Become a Community Correspondent for Time to Shine

Time to Shine is guided by older people, for older people, and we want you to help us address the issues that matter most to you.

We receive frequent local press coverage including newspaper, radio and TV about the work our delivery partners do to make Leeds a less lonely place for older people.

Our website, blog and social media channels provide a platform to promote events and activities that are relevant to older people.

And we want to use this platform to give a voice to older people across Leeds and to raise the profile of older people within their local communities.

We’d like older people to bring us the news, stories and experiences from their area as community correspondents.

This could be interviews with older people, coverage of events and activities, or reports on important issues such as lobbying and advocacy at a local and national level.

We especially want to hear from older people about what matters most to them, and for older people to share their opinions, experience and perspective.

You don’t need previous experience because key members of our staff have communications training and are on-hand to help and support you.

But if you do have journalism or blogging experience, and are passionate about issues relating to older people, then please also get in touch.

Please email me on jim@opforum.org.uk if you’re interested in becoming a Time to Shine  Community Correspondent.

Or feel free to send me any relevant news stories, blog posts or photos that you already have.
