Restorative Justice – Yorkshire Mediation

Yorkshire Mediation Services (YMS) is a mediation charity based in West Yorkshire working to resolve neighbour disputes, workplace disputes and to provide training in conflict resolution.

They work do this through offering mediation in a wide range of settings as well as providing training to provide people with the skills to mediate conflict themselves.

In partnership with Safer Leeds, Leeds City Council, Yorkshire Mediation offer restorative justice services that can help to make the local community a safer place including for older people.

Restorative justice brings those harmed by crime or conflict and those responsible for the harm into communication, enabling everyone affected by a particular incident to play a part in repairing the harm and finding a positive way forward. This is part of a wider field called restorative practice.
