Time to Shine celebrates the charity’s first year of partner projects that tackle loneliness among older people in Leeds

Market Stall Event – Friday 6 May 11am-1pm, West Yorkshire Playhouse

Time to Shine is holding a year-one event to celebrate and showcase the work of its delivery partners to address loneliness and social isolation across Leeds.

The market-stall event on Friday 6 May 11am-1pm at West Yorkshire Playhouse will give each delivery partner a place where they can promote their achievements in the first year of the project.

There will be food, activities and entertainment – such as music, dance and poetry – to highlight the fun elements of Time to Shine and that it's never too late to try something new.

The free event is open to the public and of particular interest to older people in Leeds or professionals who could refer into the projects.

Hillary Wadsworth, Time to Shine Programme Manager, said: “Our hope is the event will get people talking about the needs of socially isolated people and what the Time to Shine programme is doing to help.”

Time to Shine is managed by Leeds Older People’s Forum (LOPF) and funded by the Big Lottery Fund’s Fulfilling Lives: Ageing Better programme to reduce social isolation and loneliness amongst people over 50.

Their delivery partners include Rural Action Yorkshire, Yorkshire MESMAC, Age UK Leeds, Feel Good Factor, Touchstone, Cross Gates and District Good Neighbours' Scheme, Leeds Community Foundation, Health for All, Leeds Irish Health and Homes, Yorkshire Dance, Richmond Hill Elderly Action (RHEA), Action for Gipton Elderly (AGE), and CIRCLE.

We hope that you'll join us in celebrating the great work that our delivery partners are doing to improve the lives of older people across Leeds.
