Share your Time to Shine story!

Mojo Film has been commissioned to help older people (aged 50+) in Leeds tell their stories about the positive impact of Time to Shine.

Over several years Time to Shine has funded a huge amount of projects and we want to amplify the voices of the older people who have been involved. We’re spending the next couple of months gathering stories. Later in the year we’ll start sharing them with the public and developing some of them into short films. We want as many people as possible to be made aware of how Time to Shine has helped older people who are lonely and isolated in Leeds.

How can you be part of the Storytelling Project?

Steering the Story

We’re looking for a committed group of older people to co-produce this project. You might have your own story to tell or you might have an interest in sharing the success of Time to Shine.

We’ll meet monthly to share ideas and make decisions. This group will steer the direction of the project and have influence over the kinds of stories we share. We’ll also work with you to creatively develop some stories. Your ideas are vital in bringing some stories to life! We’re looking for about 10 older people to be part of the group.

The Steering Your Story group will meet monthly, starting 5 February (10.30am–12.30pm), at Playlab HQ, upstairs in the St Johns Centre (just round the corner from De Nicos café, next to the escalators.)

Playlab HQ, Units 5&6,
St Johns Centre,
Leeds, LS2 8LQ.

Telling Your Story Workshops

Do you have a story to tell? Come and meet us and tell us face-to-face. We’ll work with you to help you tell your story in an interesting and effective way. We want to help you feel confident to tell your story to other people. Some stories will be filmed, some audio-recorded. And don’t worry if you don’t want to be in the limelight. If you’re reluctant to be recorded we still want to hear your story! Please let us know if you’re interested in Telling Your Story and we’ll be in touch with more information about dates, times and locations.

Send us Your Story

Simply record your story or write it down and send it to us. More information about how to do this will be made available very soon.
