Time to Shine update: April 2021

Here is a brief summary of our recent work, and what we expect to be doing next month …

March 2021

Our staff team continues to work effectively from home, with the challenges that brings.

We have:

  • delivered a joint TTS/Neighbourhood Network SkillShare on Census 2021
  • delivered the March issue of Shine magazine
  • done a presentation for the Centre for Ageing Better about Age Proud Leeds
  • trained Time to Shine staff on GDPR
  • appointed a freelance business development worker to promote the Age & Dementia Friendly Business scheme
  • delivered a Wise Up To Ageism session to Dementia Friendly Leeds
  • developed online training session for the Time to Shine co-production toolkit
  • delivered a webinar on Age Proud Leeds – ‘Working Together to Tackle Ageism’ – to support the launch of the National Co-production Toolkit
  • continued to support frontline practitioners in their Covid response and preparation for the lifting of lockdown
  • presented at the Campaign to End Loneliness event – Loneliness in the Time of Covid-19 – on some of the challenges of supporting people.
  • opened commissioning for a new project to support older LGBT+ people and support organisations to be LGBT+ friendly and inclusive.
  • conducted a survey with the Neighbourhood Networks on pension credits
  • delivered Compassion Fatigue training
  • Presented to the regional group of Public Head leads on the response of Neighbourhood Networks to the Covid crisis

April 2021

Among other activities during this month, we expect to:

  • agreed a visual identity for our forthcoming LOPF/TTS website
  • deliver the April issue of Shine magazine
  • appoint a freelance evaluator
  • deliver Wise Up To Ageism sessions
  • continue to support frontline practitioners in their Covid response and preparation for the lifting of lockdown
  • commission a new project to support older LGBT+ people and support organisations to be LGBT+ friendly and inclusive
  • discuss what would be needed for us to return to our office
  • develop an action pack for recovery – supporting older people to manage the Covid transition online
  • work with The Performance Ensemble and Leeds Museums to develop the Neighbourhood Networks social history project
