Time to Shine Update – August 2015

The programme managers and the monitoring and evaluation officer for Time to Shine have completed their inductions, settled in to their respective roles and have enjoyed working  closely with all delivery partners to understand each Time to Shine project fully, to finalise contracts and to agree measures and targets.

LOPF will welcome a new member to the team on 1 September; Jim Garside will be the Administrator for the Time to Shine programme and can be contacted via email on jim@opforum.org.uk

Emily Axel is also working with the Time to Shine team over the next couple of months to kick-start the development of the website, logo and branding. She is currently helping delivery partners to shout out about their projects, promote them widely and let people know how to get involved.  Check out the Time to Shine webpage on the LOPF website over the next couple of weeks for details.

The first meeting of the 15 delivery partners took place in July and this was an occasion full of anticipation and energy as partners began to share their projects, ideas and plans for the next two years.  Some projects have already been launched, and other will be starting soon.  For example, Leeds Federated Housing Association, a Time to Shine delivery partner, hosted the launch of their digital inclusion project, Digital Angels, on 4 August 2015.

The aim of Digital Angels is to “support older people aged 50 and over to develop new digital skills and friendships by providing one-to-one support through home visits and phone calls. It will link people to volunteering and other social opportunities in their local communities such as digital tea parties, creative projects and existing community activities both off and online.”

And, as mentioned in the Feast of Music and Dance section of this update, Yorkshire Dance will launch their Time to Shine project in September as part of the Morley Festival.
