Here are some of the ways you can get involved in the Friendly Communities project:

Join the Age Friendly Steering Group
For anyone over 50, living in Leeds - share your views, ideas, experiences or skills to help make Leeds more Age Friendly. We meet on a monthly basis, currently online via zoom.

Join the DEEP ‘Up and Go’ Group
For anyone living with dementia in Leeds - join the Up and Go group to share your experiences and help make Leeds a Dementia Friendly city. The Up and Go group is part of the National DEEP (Dementia Engagement and Empowerment Project) network, and is run in partnership with Leeds Playhouse. We meet every two weeks, currently online via zoom.

Become an Age Friendly Ambassador
An Age Friendly Ambassador is an adult of any age who will take action to help raise awareness and spread the Age Friendly message to others.

Get involved in the Age Proud Leeds campaign
Age Proud Leeds is a campaign to raise awareness of ageism and change negative attitudes about ageing and older people.
There are lots of ways in which you can join us in our campaign to challenge age discrimination.

Sign up as an Age and Dementia Friendly Business or Organisation
Local businesses and organisations can contribute to making Leeds a place where older people, and people living with dementia, actively participate in the life of the city.

Take part in a Wise Up to Ageism session
Wise Up To Ageism is a 90 minute online session in which you will find out more about ageism and its impact on our society. It is part of the Age Proud Leeds campaign to raise awareness of ageism and change negative attitudes about ageing and older people
Open to all - Book your place or request a session for a group

Take part in a Dementia Friends session
A Dementia Friend is somebody who learns about dementia so they can help their community be more dementia friendly. Dementia Friends is an Alzheimer’s Society initiative. Local Champions currently deliver Dementia Friends sessions online.
