Farnley Friendly Faces

Neighbourhood Action in Farnley, New Farnley & Moor Top is a small local charity working with and for older people in the communitiy. It is one of the 37 Neighbourhood Network Schemes in Leeds who were initially created to run services independently for older people in their localities.

The "Farnley Friendly Faces" project will reach people who have become isolated because of dementia or memory loss and can no longer leave their homes independently. A dedicated worker supports and mentors existing volunteers whilst also recruiting new ones who can be matched with individuals in a befriending scheme.

The volunteers offer company and conversation to the older people, tailoring the service to fit their needs. The volunteers are also be able to alert staff to any safety or health concerns that may need following up.
