Funding Priorities

Time to Shine is a programme of learning and activity that increases our understanding of what makes a difference to older people in Leeds and how they can be supported to make new connections to experience a decrease in their social isolation.

We have used the learning and experiences from our first round of projects funded from 2015 to develop the new ones we now want to fund.

All new funding is open to any third sector group or organisation that can help us to reach isolated older people in Leeds and work with us to further understand what makes a difference and lift people out from the shadows of loneliness and isolation.

What do we want to fund?

A range of projects that will reach different priority groups of older people across Leeds. To help us commission projects that work together as a programme we have developed our 7 ‘C’s framework, and for this round we will be focusing on specific Cs: Creating Supportive Opportunities, Connections and Changes.

For full details read our Time to Shine Commissioning Brochure 2017.

How will we fund the projects?

All project strands are open to competition which means that interested organisations will need to complete a written application form. As with all funding distributed by Time to Shine we are not looking for the most professionally written bid and do not encourage the use of external bid writers.  An assessment panel will then shortlist project ideas that score enough points to go through to the face to face stage of the process this is so that applicants have a chance to talk through their ideas with the panel.

We created a flow chart detailing the different steps of the process.
