Mental health training and wellbeing support for organisations working with older people in Leeds

Thanks to funding from Leeds City Council, Leeds Older People’s Forum has developed a programme of training and support for staff working with older people. It offers training and information to help you offer mental health support to your members or service users, alongside support for you and your colleagues’ own mental health.

Please see the programme for details of the full range of free sessions from June-December 2021.

Booking is essential, please book here.

Training is free to attend but spaces are limited. Please only book dates you are able to attend, and let us know as soon if you can if you can no longer attend.

From time to time we run formal training for Time to Shine Delivery Partners. We also make available any remaining spaces for other people and organisations who work with older people.

Subjects have included:

  • Project Management - covering the principles of effective project management, advice on practical methods and current approaches, and action planning - for anyone trying to organise project delivery on the ground.
  • Social Isolation, Loneliness and Older People - bespoke training that draws on local and national research on the causes and what works to support people, and prevent loneliness and social isolation in the first place. This training can be as short or as long as you require.

We also run more informal sessions through our Time to Learn programme.

You can subscribe to a regular email to keep up to date with Time to Shine training and learning opportunities.

Get in touch with Time to Shine Learning Facilitator, Jessica, if you are involved with one of the Time to Shine Delivery partners and have an idea for training that you would like.
